Although the Jonas Brother met most of their success as a group, it was Nick Jonas's promising solo career which ushered them into the limelight. Nick had been discovered at six years old for his exceptional voice and quickly began performing on Broadway. His newfound stardom eventually led him to writing and producing music with his brothers, and in 2005 Columbia Record's President Steve Greenberg signed all three of them as a group act. The band toured throughout the year, including opening for such high profile musicians as Kelly Clarkson and the Backstreet Boys. But, after producing a series of singles and one album on Columbia Record's, the Jonas Brothers were dropped from the label. Less than a year later, they had signed with Hollywood Records and were well on their way to stardom.
