Taylor Swift was born December 13th, 1989 in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania to Scott and Andrea Swift. Swift was raised on a Christmas tree farm in Reading, Pennsylvania and won a national poetry contest when she was in grade four. She had love for music since she was a child and by the time she turned ten, she was already performing at festivals, talent shows and small venues around her hometown.
By age eleven, Swift was recording her own songs and sending them to record companies in the Pennsylvania area. After moving to Nashville, Tennessee, Swift turned down an offer by RCA Records as they would not allow her to record her own material.
She was then signed to Big Machine Records to begin recording her debut album, and was hired by Sony/ATV Tree as the youngest staff songwriter in the history of the company. From here, Taylor began to record and produce all her music on Big Machine Records and go on to become the star that she is today.
